A New Twist on McDonald’s^® Quarter Pounder Burgers

.

Beginning this month, McDonald’s invites burger lovers in the Greater Philadelphia Region to experience three new flavors of the iconic Quarter Pounder® Burger. Made with 100% beef, the burgers feature a variety of new toppings like bacon habañero ranch sauce, thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, and colorful veggies, all on a bakery style bun.

Customers can choose from three Quarter Pounder Burger varieties, including the “Bacon Habañero Ranch,” “Deluxe” or “Bacon & Cheese.” The new burgers will debut new thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, which will now be available on all existing menu items featuring bacon, and is the first permanent menu item to include habañero peppers.

McDonald’s^® Introduces Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothies

McDonald’s restaurants in Philadelphia are introducing the new Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie, available now! Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie is the newest addition to the McCafé^® Smoothie line which includes Strawberry Banana and Mango Pineapple.

Freshly prepared for each customer, McCafé Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie is made with blueberries, raspberries, a splash of pomegranate juice and other juices and blended with low-fat yogurt and ice. Its unique flavor profile combines the tartness of pomegranate juice with the sweetness of blueberries and raspberries. The new smoothie offers choices from some of the USDA’s MyPlate recommended food groups, such as dairy and fruit.

2012-2013 RMHC^® Scholarship Winners Announced!

.

Ronald McDonald House Charities^® of the Philadelphia Region, Inc. grants approximately $80,000 each year to college-bound high school seniors from the Greater Philadelphia area based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. The local RMHC Scholarship is comprised of 4 individual programs: the RMHC Scholars^® program; the RMHC/Future Achievers^® program for African American high school seniors; the RMHC/Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources^® (HACER®^®) program for Latino high school seniors; and the RMHC/Asian Students Increasing Achievement^® (ASIA^®) program for Asian high school seniors. Fifty-five total scholarships were awarded.

Dental Care for Qualified Kids Ages 1-8 at No Cost to Families

Supported by RMHC^® of the Philadelphia Region, Inc., and operated by St. Christopher's Foundation for Children, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a two-chair clinic on wheels that provides diagnostic, preventative and restorative dental care to qualified new patients ages 1 to 8 at no cost to their families.

.

Care includes examinations, cleanings, fluoride and sealant treatments, x-rays and fillings. Care Mobile staff will also provide children with dental hygiene instruction. Complicated treatment will be referred. Children qualify for the program if their families are unable to find a Medicaid provider or cannot afford to pay for dental services. The Care Mobile Dental Program offers complete, continuous care and serves as a dental home for qualified children. To schedule an appointment, please call (215) 427-8877.
