McDonald’s has a 50-year legacy of supporting the well-being and overall quality of life for children and families. Here are a few ways in which we support this commitment:

• McDonald’s provides a number of menu choices including Premium Chicken Sandwiches, Premium Salads, Snack Wraps, fresh fruit, low-fat Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfaits and beverage options like bottled water, apple juice and low-fat milk.

• In 1973, McDonald’s became the first quick-service restaurant company to provide nutrition information to customers.

• In 2004, McDonald’s introduced Happy Meal^® Choices, which offers parents the opportunity to combine an entree with a choice of beverages, including 1 percent low-fat milk or apple juice, and to select Apple Dippers^® instead of a small order of fries.
• In 2011, McDonald's.launched plans for a new Happy Meal^® in support of the company’s ‘Commitments to Offer Improved Nutrition Choices’ which strive to help customers make nutrition-minded choices whether visiting McDonald’s or elsewhere. Available nationwide by early 2012, the new Happy Meal.automatically includes Apple Slices as a side and a new smaller size serving of French Fries. For customers who prefer apples only, an additional bag of Apple Slices is available in lieu of fries.

• Our Happy Meal^® packaging includes well-being messages and activities.

• Nutrition information is available through the mcdonalds.com website, via our toll-free 800 number, on product packaging, on in-restaurant trayliners and through in-restaurant brochures.

• McDonald’s is proud of our long heritage of responsible communication with our customers. We continue to play a leadership role in the development of standards that govern our advertising.
