Each year, Ronald McDonald kicks off the school year with the Ronald McDonald Tour de Fitness^®, cross-city bike tour that visits up to 12 elementary schools throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region, promoting the importance of physical activity and bike safety. McDonald's donates $1,000 to each school's physical education program. Thanks to Bikeline Corporation for their support of the Tour!

In September 2009, Ronald McDonald was joined by the Wilmington Police Department on his Tour de Fitness.
